Announcing Esperanza Village-Fall 2024!
We are excited to announce that our big Esperanza Village project is set to be operational in the Fall of 2024. The completion of this large expansion will enable the ORC to house individuals both nightly and long term, as well as to provide outreach and engagement, housing navigation, supportive services, transportation and so much more!
A few years ago, we purchased the property next door to our Rescue Mission. We have been using the warehouse on the property for storage, but we have partnered with the City of Oroville on a massive project to develop a 40-bed congregate shelter with 30 Pallet Shelter units and 5 ADA compliant Pallet Shelter units on the site. Once developed, the site will be referred to as Esperanza Village and will offer space for health care providers, counselors and others to meet with program participants on site.
Esperanza Village will be our next generation of service capability. Providing additional low-barrier emergency shelter beds will allow staff to meet the basic needs of the unsheltered while we seek permanent housing placement. Program participants will receive food, shelter, clothing, access to laundry facilities and showers, linkages to healthcare providers, case management, housing navigation, housing subsidies and deposits, transportation and many other resources that will meet the participant’s needs to improve their life and health outcomes and keep them off the streets.
